The highly regarded public magnet school Foothill Technology High School (FTHS) in Ventura, California, is well-known for incorporating technology into its college-prep curriculum. Academics and Accomplishments: Foothill Tech received the National Blue Ribbon Award in 2006 and 20121. It has also been named a California Distinguished School since 2005. Based on its Academic Performance Index (API) exam results, the school routinely places in the top 10 high schools in California. In 2011, it achieved a peak score of 914, which at the time was the highest in Ventura County.

Athletics: The school’s teams, dubbed the Dragons, participate in the Tri-County Athletic Association and are members of the CIF Southern Section (CIF-SS). Athletically, Foothill Tech has been successful. In 2017 and 2018, the girls’ cross-country team won back-to-back CIF-SS championships. In 20201, the boys’ soccer team won its first section championship.
